489A Introduction to Pastoral Care
Introduction to Pastoral Care - Pastoral care focuses on loving and caring for people in a time of need. Its purpose is not only to provide comfort, but ultimately, to lead them deeper in their relationship with Jesus. Drawing on Biblical and practical sources, this course will seek to help the practitioner develop skills in listening, evaluating and responding to those in need. There will be a focus on the needs of the caregiver as well, and in how to engage the local church in pastoral care ministry.
