Fulfilling the Disciple-making Mandate

321A Fulfilling the Disciple-making Mandate

When people are asked what their church is doing about discipleship, most people’s default answer is “we have Sunday School” or “we do Christian Education.”  This class will ask questions like—is this what Jesus had in mind when He gave us the Great Commission? or might there be a better way to do this in today’s world?  Churches that are growing today are churches that are growing disciples.  They take disciple-making seriously.  In this class, we will look at models of discipleship the Church has used historically, ask whether current practices work, consider today’s cultural challenges, and learn how you can personally be involved in discipling someone.
