105A Bible Study Tools I

This class will give you wonderful training on how to use several bible study tools and methods, many of which are already at your disposal. Commentaries, concordances, handbooks, which ones are the right one to use? When should they be used? What are the purposes of these tools? You will grow in your knowledge of scripture and understanding of doctrinal principles. You will learn how to do a word study and passage study while studying the scriptures. [This class will require the use of a computer].

The goal of this course is to introduce you to the several tools are at your disposal for you become a strong student of the bible. You will use some internet technologies as you go through this course as well. In this course you learn:
  • How to use certain books and online tools
  • To research contexts
  • Certain terminologies: Exegesis vs. Eisegesis, Hermeneutics, study methods, etc.
  • How to do a word study and exegete a section scripture
