Introducing Director of Family Ministries, Jim Lokey

Pastor Jim Lokey, who has been in family ministry for over 20 years, will oversee all of Calvary’s children’s and youth ministries starting Sunday, September 2. Pastor Jim will also work to engage parents and equip them with practical resources for the spiritual growth of their children/youth while at home.

“My greatest ministry passion is to see students and children come to faith and walk with God,” he said. “When we pour into the next generation, through the power of the Holy Spirit, God does incredible things!”

Born in Durant, Oklahoma, Pastor Jim earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. During his senior year at college, God called him to fulltime ministry.

“I was planning on a career in finance,” he said. “During that year, God burdened me deeply for the souls of young people and gave me a passion to help them know Christ in a personal way. After wrestling with this calling for a bit, I answered yes to the call and since that time, I’ve given my life to reaching students and families for Christ.”

He then pursued his Master’s degree in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Together with his wife, Jen, Pastor Jim has served at churches in metro Washington D.C., Tulsa, and San Antonio.

The Lokeys are raising two sons, Hudson and Caleb. In his spare time, Pastor Jim enjoys running, following the Texas Rangers, and reading. Please join us in praying for the Lokey family as they adjust to their new life in New York City and develop friendships within the Calvary church family.
