CBC welcomes new Director of Worship, Jordan Grizzard

In May, Jordan Grizzard, his wife, Kayla, and their two children, Jozlyn (4) & Kendall (2), left their Dallas-area home and relocated to Manhattan to engage NYC and impact the world with the message of Jesus Christ as members of the Calvary ministry team.

As Calvary’s Director of Music and Worship Arts, Jordan is following God’s call to build relationships and begin intentional, Gospel conversations with artists in the city.  Additionally, Jordan desires to equip, train, and develop worshipers and worship leaders.

Originally from Kissimmee, Florida, Jordan first sensed the call of God to pursue full time ministry at the age of 15, while at a church camp. Over the next decade, the Lord began impressing on Jordan the importance of worship within His church. Jordan pursued his calling, earning a Bachelor of Science in Worship Leadership with a minor in vocal performance from Liberty University and has served in several churches and ministries, most recently as the Assistant Pastor of Worship at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas.

“I am musical by nature, but have a much deeper passion to help the church grow in their response as worshipers,” Jordan said. “Music and praise are beautiful and powerful tools used to bless the Lord, but only if our hearts and lives are in a humble posture of worship.”

My greatest passion in ministry is helping the church develop a biblical understanding of worship,” he said. “I desire to help them know God’s desire and expectation through Scripture and how we can experience the power and presence of God as we learn to respond in biblical worship.”

In his spare time, Jordan enjoys the creative process - writing music, painting, and creating graphics – and playing sports and board games. A sports fanatic, Jordan faithfully cheers for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Duke Blue Devils, and Chicago Cubs.

Join us in praying for the Grizzard family as they adjust to their new life in New York City and develop friendships within the Calvary church family.
