NYSB Certificate Programs

3-Year Certificate Program

NYSB’s three-year certificate program is a foundational curriculum of 24 courses that provides a systematic and progressive plan of study. New students are encouraged to register for the Preliminary Certificate courses. This first-year certificate curriculum provides courses in Bible study methods, Bible survey, theological basics, and Christian living that will form a firm foundation for further studies at NYSB.

Worldview Apologetics

The Worldview Apologetics Certificate Program is a two-year, eight-course program designed to help the student understand and assimilate the basic tenets of Christianity and the application thereof and then to be able to communicate biblical truth to a world that attacks and attempts to debunk God and His Word.

Institute for Biblical Leadership

The Institute for Biblical Leadership now offers two tracks of study for local church leadership development that seeks to prepare leaders who will be Godly in character, biblical in knowledge, and Christ-centered in ministry. These systematic plans, detailed on pages 22–25, will help prepare the student for leadership and then encourage that student to reproduce the same in others. It is suggested that Personal and Church Development be taken first.

Christian Education Certificate Programs

The Christian Education Certificate Programs are designed to prepare workers and leaders in Christian Education in the local church. This program has three tracks: the Christian Education track provides an overview of the entire education program in the local church—children, youth, and adult; the Children’s Ministry and Youth Ministry tracks are two-year programs that will provide thorough training for those in these ministries. These programs will train those who desire to be part of the disciple-making process.

Church History Certificate

The Church History Certificate Program seeks to give the student an understanding of the people, issues, and advancements of the Church from the time immediately following the death of the Apostles until today. The focus will be on how the issues we now face have been dealt with over two millennia of struggle and blessing.

2-Year Bible Intensives

The 2-year intensives, in the Old and New Testaments individually, provide an opportunity for concentrated study. Both testaments can be completed in four years.
