Board of Elders
To the family of faith at Calvary Baptist Church,

It is my pleasure to greet you on behalf of your Board of Elders, and to share with you briefly only a few of the many highlights of Calvary's ministry at this time of our annual review.

As shepherds of the flock, through care of the spirit and the body, the Elders have focused predominantly on increasing the scope and reach of programs and opportunities for evangelism and instruction, with regularly scheduled classes, affinity group meetings, and gatherings for special teaching times, as well as one-time events such as concerts and nationally recognized guest speakers. We have seen an increase in the number of opportunities for our members to develop skills and draw encouragement, and find opportunities for fulfilling the call to evangelize.

Calvary's music ministry added to the breadth of the church's vitality with a variety of special musical events that provided spiritual nourishment for the local assembly as well as serving to open the door of dialogue between the members and their seeker friends, family and coworkers.

This past year also saw the introduction of particular groups aimed at addressing the range of burdens that weigh on our members, with small groups for those grieving, those struggling with homosexuality, and those facing the challenges of single parenthood.

As we strove to ensure that the special, spiritual and physical needs of the membership were addressed, we continued to ensure the proclamation of the Gospel through Calvary's pulpit ministry.

Operationally, we enacted enhancements to our Child Safety policy as it governs those faithful volunteers who serve tirelessly in our many children's ministries.

This past  year also saw Calvary's loss of Pastor Kevin Rhodes, Dean of the New York School of the Bible. His dedication in his love of the Lord, love of the Word and love of educating and equipping the saints for ministry will be sorely missed by all of us.

The ongoing ministry of the Fellowship Fund continues to reflect our commitment to serve the physical needs of this local expression of the Body of Christ.

The Lord has permitted me to serve with a terrific group of men, and this is an opportunity to commend to you these men as they serve Calvary Baptist Church. I urge you to maintain your vigilant prayers for all the Calvary leadership.

In His name, and for His service,
  Scott Parson, Chairman,
  Board of Elders
