Accounting Assistant Ext. 31 /
|
Marge was born and raised in a Christian home in Puerto Rico. Upon arriving in New York, she joined a Spanish-speaking Baptist church in the Bronx, where she became very active in the youth groups, the choir, and Sunday School teaching.
Following her graduation from CCNY and obtaining a Master's degree from CUNY, she taught Spanish in the New York City public schoool system and later in Connecticut. At her return to New York, she worked in Wall Street as a translator and assistant trader in the commodity market industry until her retirement. Marge became a member of Calvary in 1985.
As a member, Marge served with the Social Committee and, along with other single ladies, formed the "Thirty Plus" group, which later became the Women's Fellowship and the Men's Fellowship. For many years, she has also served in the Council of Missions and went to Spain on a Short-Term Mission trip to assist our missionaries there. Missions is very dear to Marge.
During the last few years preceding her retirement, Marge volunteered in the main office here at Calvary and later was hired as the Contributions Coordinator. At the same time, the American Bible Society called Marge to work in the President's office as administrative assistant to the Board of Directors. She held that position for about four years while still working at Calvary and also doing some private teaching.
Currently, Marge works part-time in the accounting department and is very happy to worship here at Calvary.
