Billy W. Nelson accepted Christ as his Savior when he was 13. That began a journey that has led him from rural Virginia to metropolitan New York City. He studied at Liberty Baptist College and Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. An opportunity to travel with a pastoral team in his sophomore year led him to realize that God wanted him to come to New York City to serve Him there.
He served at another church ministry and school for four and a half years. Then the Lord opened doors to serve at Calvary Baptist Church in October 1992, first as the Administrative Assistant to the Pastoral Staff and now as Registrar of New York School of the Bible, since May 1995. Billy enjoys the administrative side of academia.
Besides enjoying working with his hands at a grocery store (to give his brain a rest), Billy likes to follow the Mets, the Dallas Cowboys (he was born in Texas!), to watch World War II movies and good detective-style shows, and enjoys being in the great outdoors that God created.
