481 What the Bible Says About Homosexuality
Homosexuality is one of the hottest topics in the public sphere. From the Stonewall Uprising in 1969 to the cultural acceptance of same-sex marriage and the “Gay Christian” movement of today, the LGBT community has championed and been a catalyst for a number of fundamental changes in the culture of the United States. How does the Christian respond to these changes? Can someone be gay and Christian? Are people born gay? How do Scriptures that were written 200 or more years ago remain relevant to this discussion? How should we engage our gay neighbor next door? Or in the pew next to us? This class will examine these issues from a theologically conservative perspective and equip the student to speak in private and in public settings.
