320 Spiritual Formation: Growing in Character, Obedience, and Service
In Matthew 28:19–20, Jesus said the Church is to “make disciples of all the nations” but few concepts are more ignored or misunderstood in many local churches. In this course, students will seek to understand what discipleship (also called spiritual formation) is, what God uses to accomplish this, and prayerfully evaluate their own discipleship journey. This course will seek to help students develop a thoughtful definition of discipleship/spiritual formation; identify the different ingredients of spiritual formation; evaluate their own spiritual formation progress in character, obedience, and service; and develop a basic framework for discipling others.
