144S The Servant Passages of Isaiah 42-53
Most Christians are aware of the prophetic implications of Isaiah 53. Isaiah’s book has, however, several other “Servant Songs” besides the one of which Isaiah 53 is a part. These passages are among the clearest and most direct prophecies in all the Bible that have “testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow” (1 Peter 1:11b). This course will explain the difficult terms and concepts, relate the passages to their Biblical contexts, and demonstrate that they do in fact clearly predict the sufferings and Messianic glory of the Lord’s Servant, the Lord Jesus Christ.
