As Registrar of the New York School of the Bible, Billy Nelson is pleased to be able use his administrative gifts and abilities to serve the school’s faculty and students.
Texas born and Virginia raised, Nelson has served at Calvary and the New York School of the Bible since October of 1992. He earned the Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Ministries from Liberty Baptist College (now Liberty University) and the Master of Divinity from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.
Nelson, who currently lives in the Bronx, recognized at an early age that the Lord wanted him in church ministry. During his sophomore year at Liberty, he realized that God was calling away from his work as a music major and into full-time church ministry. When he first visited New York City in 1979, he instantly knew this is where God wanted him to serve His Kingdom.
Prior to joining the NYSB administration, Nelson served as librarian and helped with administrative duties at Manhattan Christian Academy at Manhattan Bible Church.
Today, Nelson finds great joy in knowing that he is exactly where God wants him to be, and is thankful for all the doors God has opened along the way.
Nelson enjoys co-leading the Calvary and NYSB trips to Israel. During his downtime he enjoys following the New York Mets and the Dallas Cowboys, and playing Rook.
